Default FJ Cruiser SAS "Got sack?"

About to get started on my solid front axle project.

First a little history
May 2007 purchased the FJ

Started adding mods
Fox coil-overs 3" lift
All pro bumper /warn winch
285 km2
Rasta skids
custom rack

Took a trip to Cruise Moab and spent 12 days playing on the trails.

Most of the time it's forest trails up here in the pacific Northwest.

I found the Fj capable but wanted a little more.

So I started spending money

Dana 44 High pinion w/ ARB locker and 4.88 gears

Fox 12" coil-overs

Segmented steering/IFS box tapped for hydro assist

37" 12.5 17 wrangler tires. When they say 37" they mean it

I am fully aware that my Dana is a stretch for a heavy rig like mine. The rear axle will be stock for now so I understand the limitations.
Phase 2 will be the rear end and possibly a crawl box.
We'll see how it goes.

Look forward to your input.

Larry

I hope to start the project on Friday.

I hope to have her back on the road in 2 weeks.
Been planning and have the parts on hand. Only doing the front end, no transfer case or rear end stuff yet.

It's worse than that

Here's he fit without the floor jack simulating additional lift

I was hoping to stay with the 3" lift.
This SAS has the same 3" fox lift in the rear mine does
the Bushwacker flares must add clearance or the BFG 37" are smaller or a combination of the two.

Still possible with some fender work.
Wyatt is looking into some 6" lift springs/shocks
Or throw a 2- 3 " lift spacer on top of my springs as a place holder and go with leafs like Sol's
